Currently, OnePlus devices use Google Now search and on updating the core Google apps, they will be able to utilize Google Assistant, a more advanced version of Google Now with enhanced voice recognition and functional capabilities. Lastly, the update log also mentions fixes for stability issues with ambient display and improved stability for face unlock and fingerprint sensor. The OnePlus 3 and 3T currently run on Android 7.0 and the OnePlus 2, OnePlus One and Oneplus X run on Android Marshmallow, making each and every one of these devices eligible for an update to get Google Assistant. The latest version of Switch (v2.1.0) also brings some bug fixes and support for more Android models. OnePlus Switch also gets an update with the ability to manually connect if you're unable to connect via QR code on the old device. The latest OxygenOS Open Beta also adds support for more apps like Telegram, Discord, IMO, Uber and OLA in Parallel Apps. OnePlus may fix this with a future update. As per XDA, turning off the phone will trigger Assistant every time, which could be annoying for some users. If you hold for 3 seconds, you'll see the option to power off the device. With this feature, users will need to make sure they don't hold the button for too long. You an enable this option by heading into Buttons and Gestures in Settings. As per the Open Beta 3 changelog, the biggest new feature is the ability to trigger Google Assistant or a third-party assistant by holding down the power button for 0.5 seconds.
